Unique place, the MuCEM (Museum of Civilizations of Europe and the Mediterranean) of Marseille, is devoted to the cultures of Europe and the Mediterranean.

Located at the entrance of the Vieux Port on the site of Fort St Jean, this building with contemporary architecture was designed by Rudy Riciotti from an old port pier. This cube with elegant and delicate concrete laces draws a perfect square of 72 meters side, opening on the sea, the sun and the surrounding minerals. A technical and aesthetic feat, which is a delight for visitors from all walks of life.

With its 40,000 m2 and a rich collection of a million works, documents and objects, MuCEM is a true heritage complex open to all, in which art history, archeology, anthopology and contemporary art intersect.
