Repairability & Eco-design: Design for Sustainability
At Designheure, we design our lighting fixtures as objects that stand the test of time. Our eco-design approach, integrated from the initial sketch, ensures a timeless design that reduces the need for replacement.
• Repairability & After-Sales Service: All our electrical components are removable, allowing for the replacement of light sources to extend the product’s lifespan.
• Collection Support: We provide ongoing support for our product lines, enabling the replacement of lampshades or specific parts in case of damage, without having to replace the entire light fixture.
• Optimized logistics: Our designs are engineered to be nestable, reducing storage volume and the carbon footprint associated with transporting our collections.
This commitment to sustainability is reflected in each of our Collections.
A Network of French Suppliers in the Short Supply Chain
Our commitment to “Made in France” is not just a concept—it is a measurable reality. We prioritize a local economy to minimize the environmental impact of our sourcing.
• 88% of our purchases are made from French suppliers.
• 60% of these purchases are made locally, in the departments surrounding our factory.
• Mastery of materials: From Carrara marble to Limoges porcelain, including steel, brass, and wood, we source the majority of our strategic components within France. Only 12% of our purchases (specific parts not available in France) come from neighboring European countries.
As part of this commitment to a responsible supply chain, Designheure is proud to be a founding member of the Luminaire Durable collective, which brings together French manufacturers committed to a circular and inclusive economy.
